A few weeks ago, we went peach picking for the very first time. We got an abundance of fresh, juicy peaches. The girls don't always love them from the grocery store but this was quite a different story. We left the farm with full tummies and messy faces but had a great day.
We also made some delicious and simple peach crisp!
1/2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. butter
2 1/2 lbs. peaches (med.)
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. butter
2 1/2 lbs. peaches (med.)
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
Combine oats, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Add butter and mix. Cut butter into oats mixture. Arrange sliced peaches in a 10 x 6 inch baking dish. Cover with 1/2-1 cup sugar. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over fruit. Bake the crisp uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes or until fruit is tender. Serve with whipped cream or topping. Can be made with other fruit.

If you missed peach picking, you're in luck...it's almost time for apples (if it isn't already in your area!) Swap out the peaches for apples and your family will most likely still be thrilled!
Enjoy!
