T-Mobile expands America�s Largest 4G Network to eight new metropolitan areas in South and Midwest
BELLEVUE, Wash., and DALLAS � T-Mobile USA, Inc. and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile), the No. 1 mobile phone provider in the U.S. 1, announced the anticipated February availability of the Galaxy S� 4G, exclusively from T-Mobile. According to T-Mobile, the Galaxy S 4G will be the fastest smartphone running on America�s Largest 4G Network�2. The Galaxy S 4G, T-Mobile�s first smartphone capable of delivering theoretical peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps, offers enhanced mobile experiences and unparalleled entertainment including mobile HD TV3 through T-Mobile TV, the ACADEMY AWARD� Nominated film INCEPTION, and T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik� � delivered at 4G speeds on its 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display.
T-Mobile also announced the expansion of America�s largest 4G network into more than 100 major metropolitan areas, reaching more than 200 million people nationwide. In addition to the expanding its 4G footprint, T-Mobile also has aggressive plans to double the speed of its 4G network in 2011, and the company expects that 140 million Americans in 25 major metropolitan areas will have access to these increased 4G speeds by midyear.

In addition T-Mobile TV, a pre-loaded application, offers consumers access to live and on-demand mobile HD TV on T-Mobile�s 4G network, including free programming from select stations like ABC News NOW, FOX Sports, PBS Kids and Azteca America.
To further enhance the entertainment package on the Galaxy S 4G, T-Mobile has preloaded, at no additional cost to consumers, Warner Bros. Pictures� ACADEMY AWARD� Nominated film INCEPTION which is nominated for Best Picture, Best Writing (Original Screenplay), Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Music (Original Score), Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects. The partnership also will deliver a customized and integrated multi-platform viewing experience on Samsung smart TVs and the Android�-powered Samsung Galaxy Tab. On the tablet, the Xfinity TV experience is a virtual television guide and a mobile video player all in one. Xfinity TV digital customers will be able to browse, discover and sort video content, change the channel on a Samsung smart TV in real time, and program DVRs. In addition, they can watch streaming TV programming and movies directly on the tablet, and access that content across multiple devices. The service�s roadmap includes the ability to begin watching a favorite movie on the Samsung Galaxy Tab, then pause the movie and resume watching it on a Samsung smart TV from the exact moment it was paused, and vice versa.
The Xfinity TV service was unveiled today at the International Consumer Electronics Show by Comcast Chairman and CEO Brian L. Roberts during a keynote speech by Boo-Keun Yoon, president of Samsung�s Visual Display Business, and will also be demonstrated at the Samsung booth in the Central Hall.

SAMSUNG Introduces Mobile Printing APP For Fast, Easy Printer Connectivity From Smartphones And Tablets
One-click MobilePrint App Allows Users to Print Documents and Images Quickly in Office, Home and Remote Work Environments
LAS VEGAS, NV � Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, announced the Samsung MobilePrint app, its first application for printing from Android and iOS mobile devices to Samsung wireless printers, at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The MobilePrint app allows users to print emails, web pages, maps, photos, and Microsoft Office and PDF files faster when traveling for business, working remotely, or visiting with friends and family. The solution will be on display at CES in Central Hall booth #12006, January 6-9, 2011.

The Samsung MobilePrint app is available for Android smartphones, Android tablets and iOS based devices and can be downloaded from the relevant application store or marketplace. Samsung Mobile Print/Scan app users can then print directly from their devices with the click of a button, eliminating the hassle of driver installations and network configurations.

Android in space! Google send Nexus S 60,000ft above Earth - and it still works
It's official - there are little green men in space. Disappointingly the aliens are not from another planet but were launched from Earth by Google to test the outer limits of their new Nexus S phone.
The tiny Android astronauts were strapped to seven payloads, which each contained one of the new mobiles. They were carried into Earth's outer atmosphere using weather balloons.

(Captain) Zi Wang from Google Android said: 'We wanted an opportunity to collect some interesting data about the sensors in Nexus S - GPS, gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer.'
The phones were running a variety of apps. Google Maps for Mobile 5.0 (with ohttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifffline map data) which allowed the team what was directly below the balloon, Google Sky Map to try and identify the real stars in the backdrop and Latitude to report location when the phones had a data connection.
Amazingly the Nexus S could withstand temperatures as low as minus 50 degrees celsius, while the GPS kept track of the phone up to 60,000ft and started working again on the balloon's descent.
The balloons reached heights of over 100,000ft and travelled at up to 139mph at the top of their flight. They were equipped with still and video cameras and footage published on Wednesday shows the moment when the helium-filled balloons popped and the plucky Android astronauts plummeted back to Earth.

The Evergreen meets strict RoHS standards (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) 1, including being free of PVC2, BFR3 and Beryllium and is powered by an Energy Star Version 2.0 qualified energy efficient charger (level V) with standby power loss less than 0.03W and an energy efficiency of less than 75 percent. The Evergreen�s packaging is made from 80 percent recycled post-consumer paper, uses soy ink and is 100 percent recyclable4. Inside the box, customers will find a CD, replacing the traditional paper user guide, with information on an interactive tutorial, the phone�s user manual, games & apps and AT&T�s recycling program. To celebrate the launch of the Evergreen, Samsung Mobile announced it will donate $1 for every device sold, with a maximum donation of $100,000, to the non-profit organization Cell Phones for Soldiers�. Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded by teenagers Robbie and Brittany Bergquist from Norwell, Mass., with $21 of their own money. Since then, the registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization has raised millions of dollars in donations and distributed millions of prepaid calling cards to soldiers serving overseas. Samsung announced Samsung Evergreen a667 eco-friendly QWERTY slider phone
Samsung Evergreen a667 has sports a 2.4-inch display, a 2.0-megapixel camera with video recording, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, AT&T Navigator, Stereo Bluetooth and 3G connectivity.

will hit AT&T on November 7th for $29.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate (2-year contract agreement and a monthly plan of at least $20 are required).

Samsung I5500 Galaxy 5 review: Corby with brains
Gsmarena have posted a review of the Samsung I5500 Galaxy 5. Here are the phone's key features, main disadvantages and their final impression.

The Samsung I5500 Galaxy 5 is the future. OK, now, take your time. Laugh it up. But it looks like the term smartphone is about to become meaningless. It won�t be too long before they are all just phones again � like in the good old times. The Samsung I5500 Galaxy 5 is the right sort of step � slow and cautious � into a world where every phone is a smartphone. And it seems pretty obvious that Android is the right OS.
But let�s not get carried away. What we have here is a no-frills entry-level package. It does make sense though in the proper context. You can look at the Galaxy 5 as merely a stage in the Corby evolution. And that�s exactly what works in its favor � a Corby smartphone sounds like a solid upgrade option for many Samsung users.
If you�re coming from a Corby and you�re not too keen to skip a few stages in your upgrade history, the Samsung I5500 Galaxy 5 is a perfect option. You�re not likely to fuss about so many things missing as long as you get a phone to put loads of apps on. And it�s a cheap option too � carriers will probably make you an offer you can�t refuse.
Then it�s up to you to weigh the pros and cons. The Galaxy 5 has a neat and friendly interface and runs pretty fast. The connectivity is all there and the social networking is duly covered. It�s not good at imaging though and the otherwise solid browsing is let down by the small screen. Just bear in mind that the low asking price is not the only explanation for the rather unimpressive specs.
The Galaxy 5 needs to distinguish itself from similar but slightly better equipped phones in the Samsung Android lineup. The Samsung I5800 Galaxy 3 (or Apollo), which we recently reviewed,has a 3.2-inch WQVGA screen and tops the Corby smartphone with a built-in GPS receiver and DivX/XviD video support.
Elsewhere, the Motorola QUENCH, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 and the LG GT540 Optimus are obviously better spec�d than the Galaxy 5 too but have one thing in common: the dated OS version (1.6 or earlier).
Nokia have quite a selection of affordable touchscreen smartphones too. The already proven worthy Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and its cheaper sibling, the 5530 XpressMusic, are still a solid option for budget-conscious smartphone buyers.
There�s enough choice already when it comes to smartphone action within budget. Android still has a bit of catching up to do with Symbian in terms of affordability. But it�s getting there with phones like the Galaxy 5. The Corby smartphone is as basic as it gets, but it looks like the right phone for the novice user. Just be warned � as soon as you get one, you�re in it for good. So you better start thinking about your next smartphone.
